The Northrop F-5A / B Freedom Fighter and F-5E / F Tiger II are part of a family of light supersonic combat aircraft designed and manufactured in the United States by Northrop since the early 1960s. At the beginning of the 21st century, hundreds of them still continue in service in the air forces of various countries of the world. The design of the F-5 has also served as the basis for the development of other aircraft of the same type or advanced variants.

A principios del siglo XXI, cientos de ellos aun continuan en servicio en las fuerzas aereas de diversos paises del mundo. El diseno del F-5 tambien ha servido como base para el desarrollo de otros aviones de su mismo tipo o variantes avanzadas.
