Since many people can't get mods to work with version 3179 from April and the game crashes when starting the story mode not even with the Asi Loader X64.
I felt the same way. I tried several gameconfigs, but GTA5 always crashed. I read through many pages to find out what the problem could be and integrated the most important fixes.
Try this modified gameconfig and tell me if it works for you or not...

Install:
You need OpenIV.
Extract the downloaded gameconfig.zip and put the .xml file inside \mods\update\update.rpf\common\data
Don't forget to install these too if not done yet:
Heapadjuster
packfile-limit-adjuster
cweaponinfoblob-limit-adjuster
Resource-adjuster
fwboxstreamervariable-patch
Zolikapatch
If using Addonpeds maybe you need the Asi Loader x64 from Github (replace dinput8.dll in your game directory)
Ultimate-ASI-Loader_x64
If you have trouble with starting the game you could test the Poolmanager too:
Poolmanager
Changelog:
Uploaded version with double amount of traffic cars/peds (2x)
Also:
increased PoolSize for Peds from 512 to 768
increased AmbientPedsMultiplier_Base from 70 to 140
increased AmbientPedsMultiplier from 100 to 200
increased MaxTotalPeds from 200 to 300
increased VehicleAmbientDensityMultiplier_Base from 66 to 132
increased VehicleAmbientDensityMultiplier from 100 to 200
increased PhysicalStreamingBuffer from 1008 to 2016

@roman123123123 this is not a problem of gameconfig file. If you have latest ScriptHookV AND Community Script Hook V .NET installed there is a faulty plugin you installed. Look into your scripts folder or main folder of GTA and look for updates for all plugins

@JuanMarsten077 this file is for GTA V 1.0.3179.0. To avoid further confusions i will update the file header with correct version. Also i did further adjustments for some values of gameconfig. Be patient
@ThommyMD Ohh i was confused because my game was crashing again, but anyways i think i already solved it from one of those adjuster mods
@JuanMarsten077 Yes you need more than just the gameconfig to make mods work

This for sure is the reason my game is crashing LESS. It didn’t solve it (frankly was not expecting it to: add on mods along with WOV, Ikonprojects, Patreon version of Forests of San, patreon version of Vremastered, IVpack, as well as custom edited scenarios via code walker. So, it’d be asking a lot for a full proof solution. But, I’m getting close to an hour of play, compared to sporadic 15-45 minutes. So great job, you’re doing great things for the community.

@ThommyMD Sorry to but-in however, i think it goes without saying that if you upload someone else's mod and not mention the original author in your description "Credits: Original Author's Name" then you are violating the terms of use for GTA5-Mods.com. Someone else did this recently and was taken-down as a result. I'm not in any shape of form associated with GTA5-Mods.com, however this is just word of advice in-case the admins see this and takes it down. If you didn't notice the upload requirements then here they are...

@KRYST4LCLR First of all: yes, this gameconfig.xml is based on another author whose page I can no longer find. Normally nobody is allowed to own rights to modified game files, these are owned by Rockstar Games alone! It becomes even more critical if an attempt is made to earn money with it (Patreon...). This is not the case here. If the original gameconfig worked, there wouldn't be this drama with authors etc. If the modding community doesn't need help, all you have to do is say so. Thank you for your understanding.
@KRYST4LCLR By the way, I tried to publish another mod. I wrote to 4 mod authors, no answer, because they don't seem to be active anymore. The fact is, the mod was not published. The modding scene is not getting anywhere like this...
