This is an useful package for those that want to start (or continue) using Add-On and/or Replace mods. Start using an organized folders/files package and keep your game as clean as possible!
Why do I need this?
5 reasons here:
1.- Keep your game mods more organized.
2.- Save time installing mods by always following the same process and having a better control of what you install and remove. Less game crashes and if they occur is easier to find them!
3.- Install mods in just 1 location/folder which never will get outdated/stop working with normal game updates. You just need one!
4.- Have Add-On vehicles like Ford GT 2005 by Aige working as replacer mods for, in this case and as example, get the original game "Bullet" car replaced with the real life based vehicle mod.
5.- Learn how to put replacer vehicle/weapon mods as Add-On's yourself.
How can I do that if I don't know how and where?
You can find my tutorial thread in Forums which for this purpose. Check it out. it'll help you by A LOT.
- In English: [Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacers
- En Español: [Tutorial | Vehículos/Armas] Cómo hacer: Add-On's / Reemplazos
I wrote a TIPS thread in Forums some time ago to help with performance problems caused by Add-Ons and more. Check it out, it'll help you a bit:
- [TIPS] Vehicle and Script installed Mods
HIGHLY RECOMENDED (Compulsory/Mandatory to install more than 10 Add-On vehicles, otherwise your game will crash):
- Gameconfig for Limitless vehicles by @F7YO
Do you want to Add Peds instead of replacing the existing one's?
- AddonPeds & PedSelector by @Meth0d
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHANGELOG
v1.0 to v6.0
- 3 different Add-On/Replace installation folder packages and several readme changes for all of them. Variety matters!
v7.0
- Contains the Add-On weapons version package. You're now able to install weapons as Add-Ons. Take a look at the readme included to learn more!
v8.0
- The Add-On Rims pack was added. It includes into the META files an example of which kind of information should go inside.
- All the packages from 1.0 to 8.0 versions were included as an All-in-One downloadable file.
If this helps you, please don't forget to rate the upload with 5 stars ;)
If you think there's something that needs to be fixed and/or improved, please share your feedback with me!

@Reyser Hello good sir! Thanks for the package, I used it for a few car mods and it worked like a charm! Unfortunately I had a problem with this mod (https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/1969-dodge-charger-r-t-add-on-replace-tuning-hq). I tried using the same folder structure as the other mods that worked (same structure of this base folder package, I used the 4th), so I changed the paths to the .meta and .rpf from the '69 Charger mod to the paths that I had already working for the other mods, but I got the game files corrupted error.
In that case, what would you advice me to do in order to keep everything working? Could I use more than one path for my car mods in a single DLC?
Ex: vehicles.meta under dlc_mypack:/common/data/levels/gta5/vehicles.meta AND under dlc_mypack:/data/vehicles.meta, in other words, break vehicles.meta on more than one file for the same DLC.
All the meta a rpf files from the '69 Charger mod are different from the mods I had successfully installed before, and as I said, I tried changing the paths and copying their content to the files I had, but got the corruption error.
I followed this tutorial to implement my DLC (although I used the 4th folder instead of 2nd): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLkx3loWi2cThanks again!

@iskabin You can have as many vehicles.meta files as you want in any location inside the DATA folder, just make sure to change the name a bit (like, if you already have a vehicles.meta file, create a new one called "vehicles_charger.meta" for example) and make sure to add it to the content.xml file declarations so the game can load it.
Also, make sure that your DLC.rpf pack is not higher than 3.5-4GB size. If it is, you'll have to create a new pack as it would be reaching the limits already and that causes files corruption.I remember using that same add-on car on my own DLC pack without issues.

@Reyser Thanks! And what values would you recommend for the heap size, packfile limit and gameconfigs for someone that wishes to add hundreds of cars? If it's not asking much, do you know where I can learn more about how to config those values (what means what, which properties are important and for what)?
Right now I'm using the default values from those mods (I don't know if they are enough for around 700 add-on cars):
Heap: https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/heap-limit-adjuster-600-mb-of-heap
Packfile Limit: https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/packfile-limit-adjuster
Game Config: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars1 Απρίλιος 2022 -
@iskabin I use default settings, except for the gameconfig which I use the one that comes with the visual mod NaturalVision Evolved.
Can't really recommend you anything to learn to edit the values but feel free to ask for that information in the site Forums. Maybe someone else can help you with it there.1 Απρίλιος 2022 -
@Xire Thank you. It should be possible as far as you can recreate the same folders/files structure (path) and also figure out how to declare such structure in the content.xml file of the Add-On folder for the game to read the new content and load it. Still, I'm not sure if it would work as in the end is the own game engine who decides which files located in X place are the priority to load. For example, any files in the "update.rpf" file are a priority over any other with the same name in different locations. I believe the same applies to some x64?.rpf files but I'm not sure.

@Rishadhayath Maybe you didn't put all the metadata information in the respective files. You'll have to make sure you're installing everything correctly.

I want to make an ADDON weapon based on a carbine rifle for SP Do you have an example file or a tutorial video?
22 Δεκέμβριος 2022 -
@rhcnxfj13 Sorry just saw your comment :S
No I don't. Still there should be any carbine rifle already being an Add-On uploaded somewhere in the site. All you'd need to do is see how's it built and create your own based on it but with the weapon you want to convert to Add-On. After that, trial-error method until you get it working.5 Μάρτιος 2023 -
@eddie_r32 Sorry but I have no time to help with carpacks at all. Whenever you make a car pack just make sure to keep testing in-game that it works when you add each vehicle. So, for each vehicle you install do an in-game test and if something wrong happens undo whatever was the last thing you did modify/add in the car pack.
That's the method I've been using for mine for years and no issues.
